Buying a Ski Property as a Foreign Buyer, ‘Foreigner’ or Non-Swiss Resident
Buying a ski property as a foreign buyer, foreigner or non-Swiss resident can be a challenge but Ski Invest has the experience to make the process pain free.
Investment potential in the Valais area is significant, due mainly to the restrictions imposed by the cantonal authorities on foreign buyers or non Swiss citizens. As investment properties are limited and highly sought after, any purchase of a ski property with a foreigner permit or with an authorisation for a foreigner or non-Swiss resident, is deemed a wise investment and prices will continue to rise. Restrictions still apply but the apartment developments in Nendaz, for instance, are available now or off-plan with the highly sought after authorisations for foreigners or non-Swiss residents. Some developments have the authorisations available on the basis that the property is rented out for a set period during the year. This may suit some investors but if you want to visit and use your home when you want, this option is restrictive. Buying a ski property as a foreigner or non-Swiss resident has restrictions on the size of the property and the land that it is built on. The ski property living area is restricted to 200m2 and the area of the plot of land is 1000m2.
